This study analyzes the operational impacts of Non-Motorized Traffic (NMT), such as bicycles and pedestrians, on mixed-traffic flow dynamics on Indian roadways. The research quantifies speed reductions, lane-width encroachments, and capacity losses caused by unsegregated NMT, providing calibrated adjustment factors for traffic capacity manuals and highway development tools.
