2002 - WB - Improving Rural Mobility: Options for Developing Motorized and Nonmotorized Transport in Rural Areas TWU-48 Poor access to transport in the rural areas of developing countries constrains economic and social development and contributes to poverty. Improving rural people’s access to essential services requires improving mobility, through better transport infrastructure and services and attention to the location, quality, and price of facilities.
